The striker is half the instrument. A singing bowl only sounds as good as the striker that plays it — and a poorly weighted striker is the most common reason a good bowl sounds thin. This handmade wooden striker is shaped and balanced in Kathmandu for the two techniques every bowl player uses: striking the rim for a clear opening tone, and circling the rim to make the bowl sing. The wood is turned to a weight that suits small and mid-sized bowls, with enough mass to draw a full tone without overpowering the metal. The handle sits naturally in the hand during long sessions — no grip fatigue, no slipping.
