Felt does one thing exceptionally well: it holds still. Where our silk cushions bring pattern and softness, the felt ring cushion is built for stability and daily wear. Dense wool felt compresses under the bowl's weight without collapsing, keeping a heavy bowl planted through vigorous rim playing — and it lifts the bowl off the surface below so the tone rings free instead of being dampened by wood or stone. Felt is also the more forgiving material for daily practice spaces: it resists compression over time, doesn't show wear the way woven fabric can, and cleans easily if incense ash or dust settles on it. If you're setting up a bowl for regular use rather than display, or you simply prefer a plain, practical cushion over patterned silk, this is the one built for the job. Handcrafted in Nepal.
