The Chau gong is one of the most powerful instruments in sound practice — a large suspended metal disc producing a deep, complex wash of tone that swells after the strike rather than fading immediately. Where a singing bowl offers a focused, contained voice, the gong fills a space entirely. Available in eight sizes from a compact 35cm through to a monumental 120cm ceremonial piece, the Chau gong scales from a personal practice accent to the centrepiece of a professional studio or temple space. Smaller sizes (35–60cm) suit home practice, yoga studios, and sound bath practitioners who need a portable, resonant voice. Larger sizes (70cm and above) are built for serious ceremonial use, large group sound baths, and spaces where the gong is the room's defining instrument.
