Ting Shaw

Ting shaw (tingsha) are paired Himalayan cymbals joined by a leather cord, struck edge-to-edge to produce a piercing, sustained chime. Traditionally used in Buddhist ritual to open and close practice, they serve modern practitioners the same way: one strike gathers a room's attention and marks the boundary of a session. The ting shaw in this collection are hand-cast in Nepal, often with embossed mantras or the eight auspicious symbols, and tuned so both cymbals ring in agreement. Small enough for any kit, essential in most.
