Rain Stick

Rain sticks are long, hollow percussion instruments that pour out a cascade of soft white noise when tilted — the sound of rainfall, sustained for as long as the fill takes to travel. In sound baths they are the texture instrument of choice for transitions, layering gentle motion over the sustain of bowls and gongs. The rain sticks in this collection are handmade from natural materials in Nepal. They are also simply pleasant objects to live with: pick one up, tilt it, and the room quiets.
