Ghungru

Ghungru are traditional bell clusters — dozens of small brass bells bound to a strap or cord, worn by dancers across South Asia to turn footwork into rhythm. Beyond dance, sound practitioners use ghungru for texture: a shaken cluster produces a bright shimmer that contrasts beautifully with the deep sustain of a singing bowl. The ghungru in this collection are made in Nepal with hand-cast bells. Use them in kathak and classical dance, in sound baths as a percussion layer, or simply as a resonant decorative piece.
